Susannah Weiland

Susannah Weiland Collections produces handcrafted designs for luxury interiors.  Susannah is a hand embroidery artist and a keen wild life photographer.  She studied Graphic Design at university and has spent 20 years working in the fashion industry as a freelance textile print designer.  Keen to learn new skills and try different creative mediums she had taken many evening and weekend courses in everything from oil painting and life drawing to perspex jewellery making and tapestry.  Her grandmother first introduced her to hand embroidery as a child, and after taking a short course years later she was hooked!

After a lot of experimenting she developed her signature style combining her favourite mediums: tonal pencil drawing with delicate hand embroidery and beading.  Susannah's work is always influenced by the wildlife in different locations, her first range "The Botanical Collection" was inspired by Kew Gardens.

Susannah pencil draws onto paper.  These designs are printed onto fabric, and she hand embroiders and beads bright highlights of colour into them to create unique pieces of art and decorative cushions.  Her designs are also printed onto wallpaper, furnishing fabric and plates.  Susannah draws and embroiders all her work in her studio in Richmond upon Thames.  Her cushions and chairs are made to order in London and all printing is carried out in the UK.
